For another year, Nicholas Saphir has been named Chair of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB). It will be in effect from 1 April 2023 until 31 March 2024.
In this pivotal period for UK agriculture, AHDB Chair Nicholas Saphir said: “I’m happy to extend my tenure as Chair of the AHDB. In order to assist our levy payers in overcoming the upcoming problems, the AHDB is essential. The organization has undergone a significant period of transition, including offering greater value and more specialized services—priorities that levy payers have identified. Our dedication to listening and delivering is strengthened by the recent release of new plans for the beef and lamb, cereals and oilseeds, dairy, and pork sectors. I’m eager to guide the next leg of the trip as we confront the difficulties and support levy payers in seizing the possibilities that lie ahead.”
“Nicholas’ agricultural and commercial expertise has been vital in helping me reorganize and re-focus the AHDB to create better value,” said Tim Rycroft, chief executive of the AHDB. I am looking forward to working with him on the upcoming phase of that adventure together with the AHDB team.
Nicholas has a track record of leading government and industry organizations in the food and farming industries. This includes serving as the President of the Fresh Produce Consortium, Founding Chairman of Food from Britain, Chairman of the Agricultural Forum, and Chairman of the Central Council for Agricultural and Horticultural Cooperation.
