The Women in Agribusiness (WIA) Demeter Award of Excellence is a highly-regarded award that recognizes and celebrates the achievements of exceptional women in the agribusiness industry. Now in its 11th year, the award continues to honor those who have made significant contributions to the field and serve as an inspiration to others.
The WIA Demeter Award of Excellence has been the platform for recognizing the leadership and impact of women in agribusiness. Past recipients have been selected for their visionary leadership in ag and food policies, the building of gender-diverse agtech companies, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ issues in the workplace. These trailblazers have not only made a significant impact on the agribusiness community but have also served as a source of inspiration for others.

The nomination process for the 2023 WIA Demeter Award of Excellence is now open and will close on July 14, 2023. Nominations can be submitted via an online form, and self-nominations are acceptable. There is no limit to the number of entries, so anyone who knows an exceptional woman in the agribusiness industry is encouraged to nominate her.
To be eligible for the award, nominees must have ten years of experience in the ag and/or food industry. Additionally, they must serve as positive examples to other women, break down barriers for others, and maintain a consistent professional demeanor. These criteria ensure that the award is given to women who have a strong track record of achievements and serve as role models and resources to others.
Up to three nominees will be selected to receive the award at the 2023 Women in Agribusiness Summit in Nashville from September 26-28. This summit gathers like-minded individuals passionate about advancing women’s role in the agribusiness industry. It provides a platform for the recipients to share their experiences and insights with the broader community.
