Light Science Technologies (LST), a Derby-based AgTech firm, has appointed Adam Sedgwick as Sales Director to lead the company’s global growth plans. Sedgwick, a graduate of Harper Adams University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering, brings 30 years of experience in the industry to the role.
Previously, Sedgwick worked as a precision farming specialist for four years and then transitioned into sales, working for Vantage England & Wales and later taking on an international sales role at environmental data services provider Soil Scout.
In his new position, Sedgwick will be responsible for directing LST’s sales strategy in the UK and identifying further opportunities in the lighting and sensor markets. The appointment comes after a successful 2022 for LST, which reported securing contracts for trials of its newly launched sensorGROW product, with a potential value of over £1.1 million. sensorGROW offers technology, data collection, advisory, and maintenance services for clients on a three-year contracted basis.

LST’s lighting and crop-growing technologies in indoor farming are evolving rapidly to offer a viable solution to growers focused on energy, cost efficiency, and sustainability. I aim to build on the success LST has had so far as an AgTech specialist, one which has already established a strong footprint within the CEA market.
