MyEasyFarm & Anthesis Group's Partnership Focus on Scaling Digital Carbon Farming

MyEasyFarm, a regenerative AgTech startup, has entered into a partnership with Anthesis Group to accelerate the digital transformation of AgriCarbon, Anthesis’ flagship carbon farming programme in South Africa. The collaboration is designed to strengthen data infrastructure and support the scaling of regenerative agriculture practices linked to high-integrity carbon credit generation.

Anthesis works with organisations globally to drive sustainable performance through strategy, data-driven solutions, and climate impact implementation. AgriCarbon represents the company’s first project in Africa and its second globally to receive certification under Verra’s VM0042 Agricultural Land Management methodology.

AgriCarbon’s Progress Since Launch

Launched in 2021, AgriCarbon supports farmers in adopting regenerative land management practices while generating carbon credits aligned with recognised international standards. To date, the programme has issued 39,207 tonnes of carbon credits, based on practices implemented by 29 farmers operating across 17,582 hectares.

This output is underpinned by approximately 70,000 unique data points collected during the programme’s initial three-year monitoring period. According to Anthesis, this dataset highlights AgriCarbon’s position as a regional reference point for climate-smart agriculture in South Africa.

Role of MyEasyCarbon Platform

As part of the partnership, MyEasyFarm is deploying its MyEasyCarbon platform within AgriCarbon. The system is intended to support data management, monitoring, reporting, and verification requirements, while helping farmers document practice changes in line with the VM0042 methodology.

By digitalising these processes, the collaboration aims to improve consistency in data quality and reduce administrative friction for programme participants. More than 200,000 hectares are already enrolled in AgriCarbon, with further expansion expected as additional farmers transition to regenerative practices.

Leadership Perspectives on the Collaboration

“We are thrilled to partner with Anthesis on this transformative journey towards a more sustainable agricultural future,” said François Thierart, CEO of MyEasyFarm. “The scale and ambition of this VM0042 project align with our mission to help the agri-food sector reduce its carbon footprint and adopt regenerative practices.”

Franz Rentel, Managing Director of Anthesis South Africa, added: “AgriCarbon is our flagship carbon farming programme, and achieving its full potential requires both advanced digital tools and deep sustainability expertise. This partnership strengthens data quality and supports credible carbon credit generation for South Africa’s agricultural sector.”
