Invaio Sciences, a Flagship Pioneering-founded bioplatform company, announced the appointment of Magalie Guilhabert, Ph.D., as Chief Science Officer. Guilhabert brings two decades of scientific and operational leadership experience aimed at transforming innovative research into practical, sustainable solutions for agriculture.

Proven track record in agricultural innovation
Guilhabert joins Invaio Sciences from Ginkgo Bioworks, where she served as Vice President and Head of Research & Development and Operations for the Agriculture Business Unit. There, she successfully transformed the department into a fully integrated unit managing 100 scientists and a $41 million revenue target. Her leadership advanced synthetic biology and microbial genetics, contributing to the development of innovative agricultural products.
Before her tenure at Ginkgo, Guilhabert held key leadership roles at Bayer US LLC, including Vice President and Global Head of Microbial Research Technologies Biologics. At Bayer, she directed a team of 70 scientists and helped build a microbial-based active ingredient pipeline aimed at a market potential exceeding $1 billion.
Guilhabert holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of California, Davis, and advanced degrees from French institutions. She is also an active contributor to the scientific community, with 15 patents and a board position at the International Alliance for Phytobiome Research.
