CIBO Technologies to Support Nutrien’s Sustainable Agriculture Programs

CIBO Technologies, an independent data and analytics platform for agriculture, has announced a strategic collaboration with Nutrien, a global provider of crop inputs and services. Under the agreement, CIBO Technologies will deliver measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) services to Nutrien’s sustainable agriculture programs across the American Midwest.

Nutrien reports engaging more than 3.7 million acres worldwide in its sustainability initiatives, including hundreds of thousands of acres in the Midwest. These programs focus on improving input efficiency while delivering quantified environmental outcomes for supply chain partners.

Through secure API integrations, CIBO Technologies will provide verified modeling and emissions quantification to support program management and reporting. The platform delivers agronomic, economic, and environmental outcomes data, including crop performance, nutrient use efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, and soil health metrics.

“Our goal is to help farmers and their value chain partners increase land resilience while improving farmer ROI,” said Dr. Sally Flis, Director of Sustainable Ag Programs at Nutrien. “Working with CIBO, we have a trusted provider with the systems and technology in place to accurately measure production and environmental outcomes at scale.”

Expanding Access to Public and Private Incentives

The collaboration also aims to improve farmer access to public funding programs such as the USDA’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP). The USDA recently committed $700 million to regenerative agriculture initiatives through these programs.

CIBO Technologies indicated that it expects to be among the largest private contributors to EQIP submissions in FY2025, submitting approximately $300 million in applications. By digitizing and streamlining the application process, the platform is designed to reduce administrative burdens and strengthen funding applications.

Nutrien plans to combine public and private funding streams to increase incentives for farmers adopting sustainable nutrient management practices. Retail agronomists and advisors within Nutrien’s network will provide support to align conservation goals with operational realities.

CIBO Technologies Focuses on Scalable Data and Analytics

CIBO Technologies stated that its proprietary datasets and AI-driven modeling help connect fragmented agricultural data and provide actionable insights across regions and programs.

“Companies scaling regenerative agriculture need confidence that their investment delivers impact,” said Sunand Menon, Executive Chairman and CEO of CIBO Technologies. “Our platform connects fragmented data, applies advanced modeling and AI, and delivers clear, actionable insights.”

The companies indicated that the collaboration is intended to strengthen data integrity and enable credible, scalable sustainability outcomes for farmers and supply chain stakeholders.
