La Zone Agtech, in collaboration with Laval University and presented by IGA/Sobeys, is proud to launch Propulserre, a training program aimed at preparing the next generation of producers in controlled environment agriculture (CEA). The initiative supports sustainable agriculture and enhances food autonomy in Quebec, addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
Growing the Future of Quebec Agriculture
While Quebec is already a leader in certain greenhouse crops, the Propulserre program will enable producers to master advanced techniques and diversify their local production of fruits and vegetables year-round. Designed by experts from Laval University, La Zone Agtech, and the greenhouse industry, the program will run from November to May, offering comprehensive training in greenhouse and vertical farming.
Sébastien Nadeau, president of La Zone Agtech, highlighted the importance of the initiative: “Crop diversification and access to skilled labor are major challenges for controlled environment agriculture in Quebec. This unique training program, a strategic partnership with Laval University and IGA/Sobeys, will help companies recruit the talent they need to diversify and thrive.”
