EU Approval Paves Way for ADAMA’s Feralla® Molluscicide

ADAMA Ltd. (Profile), a global provider of crop protection solutions, announced the EU approval of its in-licensed active ingredient Feralla®. The decision, made at the March 2025 meeting of the EU’s SCoPAFF committee, classifies Feralla® as a low-risk active substance, enabling its introduction into the European market.

The regulatory milestone brings ADAMA closer to launching Feralla®-based molluscicide products across multiple countries, beginning with the UK later this year.

ADAMA’s Feralla® Offers Rapid Mollusc Control and Durability

Feralla® delivers a rapid stop-feeding effect, significantly reducing slug and snail damage within 72 hours of application. According to recent field trials, Feralla® reduced feeding-related crop damage by up to 90% during the initial application window.

Developed with ADAMA’s proprietary Desidro® Technology, the molluscicide offers improved bait durability, increased resistance to environmental conditions, and prolonged field effectiveness. The formulation requires a lower concentration of active ingredient, contributing to sustainable farming practices.

Technology and Sustainability Goals Aligned

ADAMA emphasizes that Feralla® was designed to meet both pest management needs and regulatory expectations. The product is considered particularly relevant as European farmers navigate stricter pesticide guidelines and seek more sustainable alternatives.

“We’re delighted to receive this approval from the EU’s SCoPAFF, which recognizes Feralla® as a sustainable mollusc control solution,” said Germain Boulay, Head of Global Herbicides & Molluscicides at ADAMA. “This approval demonstrates ADAMA’s commitment to delivering innovation to European farmers to support them in raising yield and quality.”

ADAMA Market Launch and Future Expansion

ADAMA has confirmed that the first commercial launch of Feralla® is planned for the United Kingdom, with additional rollouts expected in other European countries following national registration approvals.

The company’s global R&D and regulatory teams continue to focus on introducing differentiated technologies like Feralla® that meet the evolving demands of farmers and regulatory bodies.
