Agritecture’s Fourth CEA Census

Agritecture and CEAg World, a Meister Media Worldwide business venture, have partnered to conduct the world’s largest Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) Census. Now in its fourth year, this initiative aims to gather comprehensive and accurate data from growers worldwide, contributing to a detailed global view of the CEA industry.

Focus on Technology

This year’s CEA Census will focus on a technology theme, collecting data that reflects the latest advancements and trends in the industry. The survey’s findings will be unveiled at the inaugural CEAg World Conference & Expo, scheduled for August 26-28, 2024, in Raleigh, N.C. Henry Gordon-Smith, CEO of Agritecture, will present the keynote address, highlighting the survey results.

Collaborative Effort to Advance Understanding

Henry Gordon-Smith emphasized the importance of the CEA Census, stating, “The CEA Census is more than just a survey; it’s a collaborative effort to advance our understanding of the industry. Grower participation helps us create a detailed and accurate picture of CEA worldwide, which supports everyone from individual growers to large-scale operations in making informed decisions.”

Gordon-Smith also noted the significance of partnering with Meister Media and CEAg World, organizations with extensive industry experience and knowledge. This collaboration aims to make this year’s census the most comprehensive yet.

Call for Global Participation

The CEA Census invites participation from all types of growers, including those with high-tech CEA operations and more traditional outdoor setups using hoop houses, tunnels, nettings, and retractable roofs. By contributing to the census, growers become part of a global community working towards a robust dataset that accurately reflects the state of the industry.

Incentives for Participants

Survey respondents will receive six months of free access to Agritecture Designer, the award-winning farm planning software. Additionally, participants will be entered into a drawing to win one of five complimentary registrations to the CEAg World Conference & Expo. These incentives aim to encourage widespread participation and ensure a comprehensive data collection.

Importance of the CEA Census

Lauren Lewis, Corporate Director of Events for Meister Media Worldwide, highlighted the census’s significance: “The CEA Census is a proven, vital tool for understanding where we are now, but more importantly, where the industry is going. We are excited to work with the incredible team at Agritecture, whose prevalence in global CEA is unparalleled, to develop an up-to-date guide for the industry’s future and continued growth.”
