Ecosystem Investment Partners Completes $400 Million Fund Close

Ecosystem Investment Partners (EIP), a private equity firm focused on environmental restoration, announced the final close of its fifth fund, Ecosystem Investment Partners V, L.P. (EIP V), with more than $400 million in capital commitments. The fund will continue the firm’s strategy of investing in large-scale ecological restoration projects that deliver measurable environmental outcomes while generating long-term financial returns.

With this close, EIP’s total capital raised since its founding in 2006 now approaches $1.5 billion, positioning the firm among the largest U.S. managers specializing in nature-based investment strategies.

Focus on Large-Scale Ecological Restoration Projects

Consistent with its prior funds, EIP V will invest in wetland, stream, and habitat mitigation and restoration projects across the United States. These projects are designed to meet growing demand for environmental offsets associated with infrastructure, commercial, and residential development.

Since its inception, EIP has developed a network of partners including public agencies, conservation organizations, and private developers to facilitate large-scale environmental restoration and stewardship initiatives.

“EIP V allows us to build on our track record of combining strong financial performance with tangible ecological results,” said Nick Dilks, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of EIP. “We are grateful for the confidence our limited partners have shown and see expanding opportunities for investments in nature-based solutions.”

Investor Support and Market Interest

EIP reported strong participation from both existing and new investors, including public and corporate pension funds, endowments, family offices, and other institutional investors in the U.S. and Europe. The firm highlighted growing international recognition of environmental restoration as an investment opportunity offering both environmental and financial value.

According to Ryan Mueller, Partner at Monument Group, which acted as the global placement agent, “The successful close of EIP V, achieved in a challenging fundraising environment, underscores investor confidence in EIP’s experienced team and differentiated approach.”

EIP V Portfolio Activity and Geographic Reach

EIP V has already deployed more than $125 million across nine portfolio investments located in Florida, Kentucky, Wisconsin, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, California, and Louisiana. These projects include both greenfield mitigation banks and acquired assets aimed at restoring and conserving approximately 8,000 acres of wetlands and wildlife habitat and 23 miles of streams.

This activity reflects the fund’s focus on scalable investments capable of generating measurable environmental benefits alongside financial returns.

Ongoing Role in the Natural Capital Sector

Established in 2006, Ecosystem Investment Partners has become a key player in the natural capital and environmental restoration market, offering investors exposure to projects that balance economic and ecological objectives.

The firm’s model centers on nature-based solutions that provide verified environmental offsets while contributing to biodiversity and water quality improvements. Its team combines ecological expertise with operational and financial experience to identify, develop, and manage restoration projects across multiple U.S. regions.
