Elevate Farms Finalizes Acquisition of Fieldless Farms

Elevate Farms Inc., a vertical farming technology company, announced the closing of its acquisition of all issued and outstanding securities of Fieldless Farms Inc., a Canadian controlled-environment agriculture company. As a result of the transaction, Fieldless Farms becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Elevate Farms.

The acquisition unites two companies operating within the controlled-environment agriculture sector and reflects a strategic move to consolidate expertise in vertical farming, sustainability, and food production technologies within Canada.

“As a result of the successful completion of the acquisition, two industry innovators have been united,” said Amin Jadavji, CEO of Elevate Farms. He noted that the transaction supports the development of a Canadian-based food production platform with ambitions for long-term growth and global reach.

Fieldless Farms’ Operations and Technology Focus

Fieldless Farms operates a controlled-environment farming facility in Cornwall, Ontario, producing pesticide-free leafy greens. The facility is powered by renewable energy and utilizes packaging designed to reduce plastic use by up to 90% compared with conventional alternatives.

Elevate Farms stated that it plans to work closely with the Fieldless Farms team to continue advancing controlled-environment growing systems. The combined organization intends to build on research and innovations originally developed in collaboration with the University of Guelph and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which have informed Fieldless’ approach to indoor agriculture.

Strengthening Canadian Food Sovereignty and Supply Resilience

Executives from both companies emphasized the relevance of the acquisition within the context of Canada’s food system. Jon Lomow, CEO of Fieldless Farms, said the transaction comes at a time when global trade uncertainty and evolving tariff policies are affecting food imports and supply chains.

“Investing in local production has never been more important,” Lomow said, adding that the combination is intended to support a more resilient domestic food supply while positioning Canadian innovation for international markets.

Lomow also stated that Fieldless was founded with the goal of building a national brand centered on sustainable food production and Canadian food independence.

Positioning Elevate Farms for Growth in Controlled-Environment Agriculture

Brad Lamb, Chairman of Elevate Farms, described the acquisition as an opportunity to scale Canadian-controlled food production and strengthen the country’s presence in the global controlled-environment agriculture market.

By integrating Fieldless Farms into its operations, Elevate Farms aims to expand production capacity, deepen technical expertise, and explore opportunities to export controlled-environment agriculture solutions and products beyond Canada. The companies indicated that the combined platform will continue to focus on sustainability, innovation, and long-term food security objectives.
