Krispr Expands Retail Reach in Dubai

KRISPR vows to bring fresh, tasty greens to people living in urban areas thanks to their aeroponic farm consistently producing greens for the past year and distributing the fresh produce to customers throughout Dubai.

Since the beginning of 2022, the company partnered with six new retailers: Noon, Barakat, Geant, Franprix, Fmart & EightMarT providing greens to thousands of new customers throughout the city.

KRISPR raised in 2020 a pre-seed funding round of USD 600,000. The funding round was led by KAIZEN FZCO, a family office based in Dubai, UAE. Proceeds will be deployed towards setting up the company’s urban indoor vertical farming pilot in Dubai Investment Park.

“It may sound a bit grandiose to talk of providing fresh, clean, and chemical-free food everywhere in the world, but then clean and nutritious food is a real challenge and we all must have the courage to recognize it for what it is and also have the courage to dream the big dream and then make it happen. I strongly believe that KRISPR and others like it are going to meet this challenge and we on our part have an obligation to support this effort”, said Ameer Hamza Hassan, KAIZEN Chairman in the press release announcement of their funding round.

Dubai has seen important development in indoor vertical farming facilities in recent months as various hotels have opened container farms in Dubai and companies such as Pure Harvest Smart Farms have netted unprecedented funding rounds.
