Loveland Products Launches Extract® XC for Enhanced Residue Management

Loveland Products has introduced Extract® XC, a concentrated update of its Extract Powered by Accomplish® (Extract PBA).

Key Takeaways

  • Loveland Products has introduced Extract® XC, a concentrated update of its Extract Powered by Accomplish® (Extract PBA).
  • The new formulation requires half the product per acre compared to previous versions, simplifying handling and application.
  • Extract XC is designed to release more nitrogen and sulfur from crop residue, improving fertilizer efficiency and yield potential.
  • The product can be integrated with fall burndown, liquid fertilizers, or herbicides, reducing additional field passes.
  • By enhancing nutrient cycling, Extract XC supports both short-term efficiency and long-term soil health.

Loveland Products Introduces Extract XC

Loveland Products, Inc. announced the launch of Extract® XC, the latest addition to its nutrient management portfolio. The product builds on the company’s Extract Powered by Accomplish® (Extract PBA) line, offering a more concentrated formulation that reduces the application rate by half while maintaining effectiveness.

“Farmers are always looking for ways to get more out of every dollar they invest,” said Ron Calhoun, Senior Manager, Plant Nutrition, for Loveland Products. “With Extract XC, they can get more nutrients working for their next crop while handling fewer jugs and making fewer passes. It’s about making fall fertility simpler, more efficient, and more profitable.”

Turning Residue Into Nutrients

Crop residue often ties up nitrogen and sulfur, reducing fertilizer efficiency and affecting early growth. Extract XC combines microbial-derived biochemistry with ammonium thiosulfate (ATS) to speed residue breakdown, balance the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, and release nutrients in forms that crops can use. The process is designed to work even in cooler conditions, improving nutrient availability later into the season.

Agronomic and Practical Benefits

Key benefits highlighted by Loveland Products include:

  • Maximizing nutrient release from crop residues and soil.
  • Extending nutrient availability through the growing season.
  • Supporting even crop emergence and smoother spring planting.
  • Enhancing yield potential for the following crop.

Flexibility is another focus, with Extract XC designed for use alongside fall burndown applications or liquid fertilizers. The product is compatible with herbicides such as glyphosate, reducing the need for additional passes across the field.

Loveland Products: Supporting Grower Efficiency

By improving nutrient use efficiency, Extract XC supports higher yield potential while lowering input costs. Loveland Products notes that the product also contributes to soil health by promoting nutrient cycling, offering benefits that extend beyond a single season.

As Calhoun explained, the goal is to make residue management straightforward for farmers: “Extract XC is about helping growers put residue nutrients back to work for the next crop, saving time in the short term while supporting productivity over the long term.”
