Celebrating the Manufacturing Workforce
This week, Mahindra Ag North America (MAgNA), the world leader in farm tractor sales by volume, partnered with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) to host a joint event at MAgNA’s Houston headquarters. The event marked a stop on AEM’s national “Manufacturing Express” bus tour, which celebrates the contributions of the equipment manufacturing workforce across the country.
MAgNA opened its doors to students, educators, employees, and community members to recognize the 345,000 Texans, and 2.3 million Americans, whose work powers the agriculture and equipment manufacturing industries.
“For over 30 years, Mahindra Ag North America has proudly stood at the intersection of innovation and purpose in the manufacturing landscape,” said Viren Popli, President & CEO of Mahindra Ag North America. “This event provided a chance to celebrate manufacturing, our U.S. heritage, and connect with students to explore career opportunities in agriculture and manufacturing.”
AEM’s Manufacturing Express
AEM’s stop in Houston highlighted its grassroots initiative, I Make America, which advocates for policies that strengthen U.S. manufacturing. Guests participated in the “Manufacturing Challenge,” learned about career paths, and engaged directly with AEM staff.
“The AEM Manufacturing Express is about celebrating the people behind the equipment and services our industry provides, including the workers at Mahindra Ag North America,” said Megan Tanel, President & CEO of AEM. “It’s about honoring the hard work and ingenuity of the men and women who make our industry strong.”
Mahindra’s Commitment to Innovation
Alongside celebrating its workforce, Mahindra showcased its U.S.-assembled farm equipment, produced at facilities in Houston, Texas, and Pontiac, Michigan.
- In 2021, MAgNA reintroduced the ROXOR side-by-side off-road vehicle, built for farm chores and off-road utility.
- The company also launched the 1100 sub-compact and 2100 compact tractors, designed for rural property owners, ranchers, and small farmers.
- Features such as tilt telescopic steering, intuitive controls, side-by-side pedals, and climate-controlled cabs highlight Mahindra’s focus on operator comfort and ease of use.
