MOCCAE Announces National Agriculture Conference and Exhibition

Event Aligned with Strategic Goals for Food Security and Sustainability

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has announced the launch of the Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition 2025, taking place from May 28 to 31 at the ADNEC Centre Al Ain. Organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event supports national efforts to promote sustainable agriculture and enhance food security.

This initiative is part of the broader ‘Plant the Emirates’ National Programme, launched to encourage home gardening, community participation, and the cultivation of high-nutrition local crops. The program aligns with the UAE’s vision of sustainable agricultural development inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

“The Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition reflects our commitment to empowering farmers and strengthening the UAE’s agricultural sector,” stated Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment.

MOCCAE Highlights Climate-Smart Practices and Technological Innovation

According to MOCCAE, the conference will focus on transitioning from traditional farming methods to more sustainable, climate-smart agricultural systems. These include modern irrigation techniques, vertical farming, agricultural biotechnology, and waste management.

Dr. Al Dahak emphasized the importance of these solutions in addressing regional challenges such as limited arable land and water scarcity. She noted the UAE’s existing implementation of advanced agricultural projects and the government’s aim to scale such initiatives in collaboration with international and local partners.

“Bringing together experts and investors, this conference will support the development of local agricultural production and generate new investment opportunities,” she added.

Multiple Zones for Community, Youth, and Sector Stakeholders

The event, organized by MOCCAE, will feature a range of specialized exhibition zones to encourage participation from across society. These include:

  • Farmers’ Exhibition Zone, spotlighting local crops and products, including honey producers.
  • Youth Zone, focused on engaging young farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs.
  • Agricultural Technology Zone, showcasing smart farming solutions and carbon reduction tools.
  • Schools and Universities Zone, offering students and researchers a platform to share innovations.
  • Corporate and Private Sector Zone, providing companies space to present ongoing projects and contributions.
  • Startups Zone, designed to highlight emerging agricultural ventures.

These zones aim to enhance collaboration between public, private, and academic institutions while promoting awareness of agriculture’s role in national development.

National Agricultural Extension Forum to Debut

A key component of the event will be the First National Agricultural Extension Forum, which offers attendees the opportunity to learn from international and local experts. It will include field consultations, technical workshops, and panel discussions on themes such as climate change, sustainable practices, and community farming.

MOCCAE has stated that this platform is intended to support Emirati farmers by improving access to current agricultural knowledge and practices, while also fostering dialogue around the integration of artificial intelligence, smart irrigation, and other modern technologies.

“Through this conference, we aim to ensure agriculture remains a sustainable Emirati practice with long-term impact,” Dr. Al Dahak noted.

MOCCAE’s Continued Commitment to Agricultural Sustainability

The Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition is positioned by MOCCAE as a national platform to support the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051. By facilitating knowledge exchange and showcasing practical agricultural innovations, the event aims to contribute to the resilience of the food production ecosystem in the country.
