Agreement Expands GROZOME Availability for U.S. Farmers
National Bamboo LLC, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, has signed a national bulk distribution agreement with Hiwassee Products LLC, an agricultural equipment manufacturer located in Madisonville, Tennessee. The agreement is focused on expanding access to GROZOME® Plant & Soil Probiotics, a biologically based microbial inoculant developed for soil health applications.
According to both parties, the agreement is designed to support growers with scalable biological inputs as interest in soil microbiology continues to grow in U.S. agriculture.
“By partnering with Hiwassee, a trusted name in soil biology solutions, instantly gives us the confidence to invest more and rapidly scale our operations,” said Jamie LeLiever, President & Co-Founder, at GROZOME.
“GROZOME sold out last spring,” added Colin Boller, President of Hiwassee Products. “We’re thrilled to ensure our growers now have reliable access to this exceptional microbial inoculant for thousands of acres this Fall season.”
Technology Supports Microbial Extraction and Application
The Hiwassee Bio-Extractor, a piece of equipment developed by Hiwassee Products, is designed to extract living microbes from solid inoculant materials. The process involves:
- Mechanically feeding input materials into a chamber
- Using water jets to separate microbes from the solids
- Collecting the resulting microbial solution for field use
This method enables on-farm application of microbe-rich liquids, which can be used in various soil management strategies.
Use of Microbial Inoculants in Soil Health Programs
The microbial inoculants distributed through the partnership between National Bamboo & Hiwasee are described as “biologically complete,” meaning they contain a range of microbial groups that contribute to soil ecological functions. When used in conjunction with traditional inputs, such inoculants are intended to support:
- Soil structure development
- Nutrient cycling
- Water retention
- Crop resilience
These practices are commonly associated with regenerative agriculture approaches, which focus on soil biology and long-term ecosystem function.
