Saffron Tech, Raises $1.3 Million Through Crowdfunding

Sativus Tech Corporations subsidiary, Saffron Tech, has raised $1.3 million through crowdfunding to continue R&D and execute its go-to-market strategy. Saffron Tech aims to produce a consistent, pure, high-grade, and large-scale supply of saffron for health, wellness, and beauty industries using proprietary indoor vertical farming technology. Saffron Tech’s valuation is now $11 million and Sativus Tech’s interest in the company is 70%. Saffron’s medicinal properties are being used in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications for conditions such as ADHD and anxiety.

Sativus Tech Corporations subsidiary, Saffron Tech, a private Israeli company, has raised $1.3 million in additional funding through a recent crowdfunding campaign. Saffron Tech uses proprietary technology to grow saffron and will use the funds to continue its R&D program and execute its go-to-market strategy. 650 new investors participated in the crowdfunding campaign, expanding Saffron Tech’s shareholder community and resulting in a post-raise valuation of $11 million. 

Sativus Tech’s interest in Saffron Tech now totals 70% post-raise. Saffron Techs CEO, Tal Wilk-Glazer, stated that this latest equity raise reflects the confidence investors have in Saffron Tech’s abilities and its business plan. They are now well-positioned to accelerate their R&D program and execute their market entry. The company aims to produce a consistent, pure, high-grade, and large-scale supply of saffron for health, wellness, and beauty industries. Saffron is known for its anti-anxiety, antidepressant, and antioxidant properties. Saffron Tech recently appointed Estee Rosen, former CEO of Novartis Israel, as Partnership Lead in the health-beauty-wellness industry.
