EPA Expands Vestaron's BASIN Bioinsecticide Label to Outdoor Crops
Vestaron Crop Protection announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved BASIN™ bioinsecticide for outdoor agricultural use. The approval extends BASIN’s label beyond indoor and greenhouse applications, allowing growers to use the product across a broader range of high-value field crops.
The approval represents Vestaron’s second new active ingredient commercialized within six years.
New Mode of Action for Insect Management
BASIN is derived from a modified spider venom peptide and introduces a novel mode of action for insect control. The bioinsecticide is designed to manage key lepidopteran pests, including navel orangeworm and diamondback moth, as well as soft-bodied insects such as aphids, mites, Drosophila, and whiteflies.
