Key Takeaways
- CropX Technologies announced the launch of Apex, a multi-depth soil sensor available in 12″, 24″, and 36″ configurations that measures soil conditions at 4-inch intervals throughout the soil profile.
- The new sensor measures volumetric water content, soil temperature, and salinity while connecting via standard SDI-12 to CropX telemetry devices for full platform integration.
- Apex joins the existing CropX Vertex sensor as part of an expanding portfolio that includes weather stations, crop canopy sensors, and telemetry devices.
- Field validation testing compared Apex measurements with laboratory-measured undisturbed soil samples across multiple soil types, crops, and irrigation conditions to confirm reliable performance.
- CropX solutions are currently used by growers, agricultural retailers, and food companies in more than 60 countries worldwide.
CropX Expands Sensor Portfolio with Configurable Depth Options
CropX Technologies has added the Apex multi-depth soil sensor to its product lineup. The sensor offers configurable depth options and continuous, high-resolution root zone sensing capabilities fully integrated into the CropX digital agronomy platform.
Available in 12″, 24″, and 36″ configurations, Apex measures volumetric water content, soil temperature, and salinity at 4-inch intervals throughout the soil profile. The sensor connects via standard SDI-12 to CropX telemetry devices (TD2) and enables automated moisture status detection, irrigation insights, leaching detection, and other agronomic analytics without requiring user configuration.
“Growers and agronomic service providers need sensing tools that fit their crops and workflows, not the other way around,” said Tomer Tzach, CEO at CropX.
