Mountain Valley MD Highlights Yield Improvements in Brazil Citrus Trials
Mountain Valley MD provided an update on the performance of its Agrarius agricultural plant-signaling technology following new citrus trial data in Brazil. Conducted with FARMATAC, the assessments evaluated mature Hamlin and Valencia orchards under real-world commercial conditions.
Hamlin blocks treated with Agrarius showed a 15% increase in productivity and required 20 fewer boxes to produce one ton of juice. Agronomists also noted reduced visible symptoms of Huanglongbing (HLB). Valencia orchards recorded yields of 835 boxes per hectare compared with 559 boxes in the control—a 49% increase.
“HLB has devastated citrus production globally… The early results we are seeing in Brazil are consistent with prior trials we have conducted,” said Dennis Hancock, President and CEO of Mountain Valley MD. “Agrarius could represent the first scalable organic tool to help mitigate the impact of citrus greening disease while simultaneously improving orchard productivity and plant health.”
