Archimede Raises €1.5 Million Seed Round for Off-Grid Infrastructure Platform

Archimede, an Italian DeepTech startup building a modular system for managing and monitoring off-grid critical infrastructure, has closed a €1.5 million Seed round, surpassing its initial €1 million target. The round was led by Primo Capital SGR through its Primo Digital, Primo Digital Parallel Italia and Primo Digital Parallel Sud Italia funds, with participation from CDP Venture Capital, Plug and Play, and ELIS through the CrossConnect InfraTech programme run by CDP Venture Capital's National Accelerator Network, along with 40Jemz and Irritec. The capital will support Archimede's technical and commercial teams, complete product industrialisation, accelerate enterprise pilots and back international expansion.

Archimede Closes Oversubscribed Seed Round

Archimede, an Italian DeepTech startup building a modular system for managing and monitoring off-grid critical infrastructure, has closed a €1.5 million Seed round, surpassing its initial €1 million target. The capital will support Archimede's technical and commercial teams, complete product industrialisation, accelerate enterprise pilots and back international expansion.

Riccardo Puglisi, CEO and co-founder of Archimede, said the company has grown quickly since its founding.

“In just over two years, we have transformed an idea born in Sicily into a technology startup ready to grow in international markets. We want to make the management of remote infrastructure and assets simple and accessible by integrating energy, satellite connectivity, and software control into a single system,” said Riccardo Puglisi, CEO and co-founder of Archimede.

ArchMesh Targets Off-Grid Industrial Assets

Founded in 2024 by Puglisi, Alessandro Basile and Ferdinando Anselmi, Archimede has built ArchMesh, a plug-and-play kit designed to manage and monitor critical infrastructure in areas without reliable terrestrial network coverage. The platform combines predictive energy management, multi-constellation satellite connectivity and a low-code software layer into one stack, allowing bidirectional control of distributed facilities across sectors including agriculture, oil and gas, logistics, public infrastructure and defence.

Archimede's Investors Weigh In

Mara Attardi, Investment professional at Primo Capital, said the company's product grew directly out of the operating conditions it was built to serve.

“What convinced us about Archimede was not only the technology itself, but also the way it was built: in an environment where energy, connectivity, and access to resources are never guaranteed, this very challenge has now become the company's product,” said Mara Attardi, Investment professional at Primo Capital.

Archimede also plans to release an open-source version of the platform to let developers and system integrators build vertical applications, and has begun a proof-of-concept project with Eni Joule to test ArchMesh for remote monitoring of industrial assets, including applications such as smart irrigation and pipeline monitoring.
