AGTECH ACCELERATOR Launches Search for New Startup Cohort
The AGTECH ACCELERATOR program, run by Cultivator powered by Conexus, is now accepting applications for its fifth cohort. Designed to fast-track the growth of Canadian agtech startups, the accelerator combines agriculture and technology through a founder- and farmer-focused model.
Cohort 5 will participate in a fast-paced, three-month program featuring both virtual and in-person sessions, concluding with a finale at Ag in Motion 2026, western Canada’s largest outdoor farm expo.
Program Connects Startups With Farmers, Investors and Industry Leaders
Laura Mock, Director at Cultivator, highlighted the program’s value for both founders and the wider agriculture sector. She noted that the structure enables startups to validate their technologies directly with producers while gaining exposure to capital providers and industry partners.
“What makes the accelerator so powerful is how it brings together founders, farmers and industry partners to validate innovation and engage technology testers for commercial-level adoption,” she said.
The AGTECH ACCELERATOR curriculum includes investor introductions, sector-specific mentorship, and direct learning sessions with farmers who help early-stage companies refine their solutions for practical, commercial use cases.
Strong Track Record From Previous Cohorts
Since launch, Cultivator has supported 62 agtech companies through the program. Those startups have collectively raised $161.9 million in private capital, recorded $118.5 million in revenue, secured $76.4 million in public funding and created 316 jobs.
Cohort 4 participant Jill Sharko, co-founder of AgScouter, emphasized the accelerator’s role in strengthening early-stage agtech businesses: “The AGTECH ACCELERATOR program not only connected me with incredible mentors and valuable contacts in the Saskatchewan agtech community, but it also gave me the tools and knowledge to make a real impact on our business.”
Applications Open Until January 9, 2026 For AGTECH ACCELERATOR
Canadian and UK agtech startups interested in joining Cohort 5 can apply now. Cultivator will run the program through its hybrid format, supporting companies seeking access to capital, programming and industry connections.
