Key Takeaways
- NewLeaf Symbiotics introduced Terrasym VT, a transplant-specific biostimulant designed to support vegetable crops during early-season stress.
- The product received California approval in late 2025 and is now available in major U.S. vegetable-growing regions.
- Terrasym VT demonstrated yield increases in strawberries, tomatoes, cucurbits, and other specialty crops.
- Trials reported an average 2.3-ton/acre yield gain in processing tomatoes across 20 large-scale farm trials from 2022–2024.
- The biostimulant leverages NewLeaf Symbiotics’ proprietary PPFM strain library of 12,000 microbial candidates.
NewLeaf Symbiotics Introduces 2026 Transplant Biostimulant
NewLeaf Symbiotics Expands PPFM-Based Solutions for Specialty Crop Growers
Growers preparing vegetable seedlings for field transplanting will have a new tool for the 2026 season as NewLeaf Symbiotics launches Terrasym VT, a biostimulant designed specifically to help crops withstand early transplant stress. The product received approval for use in California in November 2025, enabling deployment across key U.S. vegetable-producing areas.
Terrasym VT is engineered to improve nutrient uptake and minimize abiotic stress during the vulnerable transition from greenhouse to open field.
“NewLeaf VT technology is a combination of PPFM strains that work together to improve nutrient uptake and mitigate abiotic transplant stress to enhance seedling vigor,” said Aaron Kelley, Chief Commercial Officer of NewLeaf Symbiotics. “These plant benefits result in more fruit being harvested when compared with the grower standard practice.”
