Farmers Business Network sharpens its digital platform focus

Farmers Business Network (FBN®) announced it has completed the spin-off of its crop protection sourcing and logistics subsidiary, which will now operate as Global Crop Solutions (GCS). The move separates FBN’s digital marketplace and financial services platform from the crop protection supply business, creating two independent companies each focused on their distinct markets.

FBN will continue as an open, asset-light digital marketplace offering inputs, supplies, financial services, and data-driven insights to more than 120,000 farmer members. Leadership said the separation supports its mission to improve profitability and convenience for family farms.

“This separation marks a pivotal moment for FBN, allowing us to operate as a pure technology platform dedicated to bringing farmers more choice, savings, and convenience,” said Diego Casanello, CEO of FBN.

Global Crop Solutions launches as independent supplier

The newly formed Global Crop Solutions (GCS) will serve as a standalone crop protection company, leveraging its registration portfolio to supply products across wholesale and retail agricultural channels. While now independent, GCS will continue to sell to farmers through the FBN marketplace, maintaining continuity for existing members while expanding its customer base across cooperatives, distributors, and retailers.

As part of this arrangement, FBN members will retain access to trusted and exclusive brands, including Willowood USA®, while GCS gains the ability to operate free from channel restrictions.

FBN and GCS's Strategic partnership maintained

Although separated, the two companies will continue to collaborate commercially. Global Crop Solutions will remain a seller on the Farmers Business Network marketplace, ensuring a continued connection between the independent supplier and the digital platform.

By focusing independently on their respective missions, FBN and GCS aim to accelerate growth while maintaining strong ties that provide farmers with reliable supply access alongside a broad digital marketplace experience.
