AgTech Highlights: Funding and Product Launches

Orbia Netafim has introduced the Mega-PULSAR™ sprinkler, designed to protect high-value subtropical crops such as avocados, mangoes, and lychees from heat stress. The system delivers uniform low-volume pulses to reduce canopy temperature and maintain humidity, with early trials showing improved performance and reduced labor needs.

UK-based Saga Robotics secured £8.4 million to expand its Thorvald autonomous platform for grapevine and strawberry growers. The platform already supports 13 major strawberry producers in the UK and more than 1,300 acres of vineyards in the United States.

BinSentry raised $50 million in Series C funding to scale its AI-powered animal feed monitoring sensors. The company reported doubling revenue in the past year while maintaining a 0% customer churn rate.

AgEagle Aerial Systems launched the RedEdge-P Green multispectral camera, enabling data-driven decision-making for growers and researchers. The NDAA-compliant device is compatible with multiple drone platforms and is available for immediate adoption.

Plant Science Updates

BASF, Corteva Agriscience, and M.S. Technologies are preparing to introduce a nematode-resistant soybean trait in Brazil, with trials showing over 90% control of root lesion nematodes. Commercial availability is expected later this decade.

FarmQA launched Advanced Prescriptions and Nutrient Blender tools to streamline nutrient planning. These tools aim to reduce agronomists’ data-processing workloads while improving accuracy in fertility recommendations.

LeafWorks expanded its DNA-based identification services to cover 75 herbs and fungi, including adulteration testing validated against a global genomic library.

Proterra Investment Partners acquired AcreTrader, extending its farmland investment capabilities. Acres.com will continue independently under founder Carter Malloy, while AcreTrader integrates with Proterra’s platform.

CEA Updates

EBZ Group acquired a majority stake in Organifarms, marking its entry into sustainable automation technologies. Organifarms’ co-founders will step aside as EBZ integrates its expertise in agricultural robotics.

Ecobloom partnered with Kuwait-based GreenLife to deploy AI-powered farming solutions, combining EcoSense’s data-driven insights with CleanGreens aeroponics to improve desert agriculture.

PB tec, part of Atrium Agri, acquired all CE-Line assets following its bankruptcy in July 2025, securing its nutrient analysis technologies for integration into greenhouse horticulture solutions.
