GreenTech Americas 2026 Returns to Querétaro

GreenTech Americas is preparing for its sixth edition, scheduled to take place from March 24 to 26 at the Querétaro Centro de Congresos in Mexico. Organizers expect this edition to be the largest to date, with approximately 5,800 attendees and 230 exhibitors from across the Americas.

The three-day event is positioned as the leading platform in Latin America dedicated to controlled environment agriculture, bringing together growers, suppliers, investors, researchers, and industry experts focused on high-value crop production.

A Dedicated Platform for Controlled Environment Agriculture

Now in its sixth year, GreenTech Americas has established itself as the region’s primary meeting point for greenhouse and indoor production systems. The exhibition floor will showcase technologies focused on productivity, energy and water efficiency, and cost reduction, alongside a conference program and technical sessions hosted on the GreenTech Stage.

“With a sold-out show floor featuring 230 exhibitors, GreenTech Americas 2026 is set to be our most dynamic edition yet,” said Mariska Dreschler, Director Horticulture at GreenTech Global. “This year, we are proud to introduce the Innovation Award, celebrating solutions that contribute to the future of horticulture.”

Mexico’s Protected Agriculture Growth in Focus

The event takes place against the backdrop of continued growth in Mexico’s protected agriculture sector. According to data from SIAP and SADER, protected cultivation in Mexico covers more than 51,850 hectares, producing approximately 1.38 million tonnes of crops valued at USD 3.5 billion. In 2024, Mexico exported fruits and vegetables worth USD 20.25 billion, with many products grown under protected systems.

These trends will be reflected in sessions addressing export strategies, financial resilience, crop protection technologies, and responses to evolving trade dynamics in North America.

Program Highlights and Industry Engagement

The program will open on Tuesday, March 24, with an official opening ceremony followed by networking activities and the presentation of the Innovation Award GreenTech Americas 2026. Workshops and conferences throughout the event will align under the central theme: “From the greenhouse to the global market: Innovation and talent facing North America's new trade challenges.”

Wednesday’s “Power Day” will focus on workforce development and corporate culture, while Thursday’s sessions will address business continuity, collaboration, and long-term industry resilience.

Broad Institutional Support For GreenTech Americas

GreenTech Americas 2026 is supported by organizations including the Asociación Mexicana de Horticultura Protegida (AMHPAC), CEICKOR, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Netherlands Business Support Office in Querétaro, and several industry associations. Their involvement aims to strengthen knowledge exchange and cross-border collaboration within the horticulture sector.

The event is expected to serve as a key meeting point for advancing sustainable and efficient controlled environment agriculture across Mexico and the wider region.
