PlantLab has appointed Douwe Snel as their new CFO. Snel brings his wealth of experience from various positions at Jumbo Supermarkets, franchise director in real estate, and CFO for EMTÉ Supermarkets.
“Douwe is the ideal CFO for working with us in the next phase of PlantLab: further growth inside and outside the Netherlands. His international experience and expertise in the area of corporate finance will be invaluable in that regard”, explains CEO Eelco Ockers. “I’m looking forward to the creative energy and vitality of a scale-up such as PlantLab”, adds Snel. “The potential for further growth and expansion is enormous, and we can make a significant contribution to feeding our planet healthily and sustainably.”
PlantLab has its R&D center in Den Bosch, considered as one of the largest research centers for vertical farming. The company also developed its commercial production location in Amsterdam. In addition to its Amsterdam site, PlantLab has production sites in the city of Indianapolis, USA, in the Bahamas, and Curaçao. And other facilities are in the pipes for the upcoming months.
PlantLab New Lease in Pompano Beach, Florida
Avison Young’s Tom Viscount facilitated a 50,570-square-foot new-to-market industrial lease on behalf of PlantLab as reported by the American Journal of Transportation, at the new Bridge Point Powerline Road distribution park at 1981 N. Powerline Road in Pompano Beach, Florida. The lease represents the Amsterdam, Netherlands-based company’s second U.S. location – it’s the first on the east coast – and brings the 521,560-square-foot Bridge development to 100% leased.
