Scale and Efficiency in Controlled Environment Agriculture
Vertical Harvest’s flagship farm in Westbrook, Maine, demonstrates a model of controlled environment agriculture that produces the equivalent of 250 acres of traditional farmland on just half an acre. The facility uses 95% less water and achieves some of the lowest energy consumption per pound of food in the sector. The company has partnered with Elevated Signals and Siemens to integrate advanced digital systems into its scalable farming platform.
