This move comes as Mandesh Dosanjh steps down from his role, transitioning into a strategic advisory position for 90 days.

Orville Bovenschen has been an integral part of Village Farms, serving as the Vice President of European Business Development and Operations before being named the Chief Operating Officer of Pure Sunfarms. He returns to a facility he helped design, repurpose, and commission specifically for cannabis operations. His experience includes several senior roles in the cannabis industry, where he oversaw innovation and new product launches.

Michael DeGiglio, CEO of Village Farms, expressed confidence in Bovenschen’s capabilities, highlighting his strong track record in delivering operational efficiency. Bovenschen has led multiple initiatives to enhance quality and consistency across Pure Sunfarms’ brands. The new role emphasizes Bovenschen’s leadership as Village Farms aims to be the long-term, profitable market leader in the rapidly evolving cannabis market.

Dosanjh’s Contributions and New Role

Mandesh Dosanjh has been recognized for his five years of dedication to leading Pure Sunfarms, contributing to its status as one of the world’s most significant and cost-effective cannabis operations. Michael DeGiglio thanked Dosanjh for his work, acknowledging the robust foundation and top-three market share position he helped achieve nationally.

Orville Bovenschen’s appointment as President of Pure Sunfarms comes with extensive international experience. He has worked in various business capacities across Europe, the Middle East, and North America for over 15 years. Bovenschen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands.

His direct reporting to Michael DeGiglio signifies a focused leadership strategy, aligning with Village Farms’ goals of building on its dominant position in dried flower and leading brands in the Canadian Cannabis business.
