In a remarkable achievement for agricultural technology, AGCO Corporation’s (NYSE: AGCO) ONE SMART SPRAY System stole the spotlight at the recent Midwest AG Industries Exhibition (MAGIE) Show in Bloomington, Illinois. The innovative technology, a result of a collaboration between AGCO’s Fendt® brand and Bosch BASF, was bestowed with the prestigious CropLife IRON Showstopper Award on August 23, 2023.
This award, conferred jointly by CropLife IRON magazine and the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association (IFCA), is given to the product that shines as the “best in show.” With its precision ag technology, ONE SMART SPRAY is setting the standard in real-time weed detection and herbicide application, aiming to cut down costs and inputs for farmers.
ONE SMART SPRAY employs precision agricultural technology using high-resolution cameras to detect weeds instantly. It then applies herbicide specifically to the identified regions, minimizing herbicide use and optimizing costs for farmers. Fendt plans to incorporate ONE SMART SPRAY into its renowned Rogator® 900 solution, the only self-propelled, adjustable-height applicator in the sector to enhance its potential.
Although ONE SMART SPRAY is in the field testing phase, its commercial release is expected in 2025.
