Canadian precision-agriculture company, HerdWhistle Technologies Incorporated, has announced a strategic partnership with AgSights, aiming to enhance CowCalf operations across Canada, the USA, and Mexico. This collaboration follows HerdWhistle’s recent partnership with Alpha Phenomics Group Incorporated.
Adam Morand, CEO of HerdWhistle, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the integration of their proprietary electronic livestock identification and traceability tools with AgSights’ customer base. The advanced HerdWhistle BigEyeâ„¢ cameras will capture livestock images, including infra-red and 3D/4D video formats. This data, secured using blockchain technology, will be processed centrally for biometric data, leveraging IP exclusively licensed from Alpha Phenomics. The goal is to create real-time predictive modeling through AgSights’ bioTrack Plus system.
AlphaPhenomics’ CSO, Professor Graham Plastow, highlighted the agreement’s significance, noting AgSights’ role as a valued shareholder of Alpha Phenomics. He emphasized the mutual efforts over the past year to integrate phenotypic data capture systems with AgSights’ bioTrack Plus software, aiming to enhance animal traceability and improve selection and production.
Betty-Jo Almond, General Manager of AgSights, reiterated their support for the initiative, expressing confidence in HerdWhistle’s potential to become a global leader in Precision Livestock Production. She believes the technology will provide real-time insights to boost production efficiency for cattle and small ruminants.
