Bayer Crop Science Canada Introduces Sivanto® Energy Insecticide

Bayer Crop Science Canada has announced the commercial launch of Sivanto® Energy, a new foliar insecticide developed to provide rapid and reliable control of flea beetles in canola. The product combines two active ingredients with different modes of action to support effective pest management during early crop development.

According to the company, Sivanto Energy was designed to help growers manage flea beetle pressure while balancing operational timing during critical stages of the canola growing season.

“It’s about empowering farmers to protect their canola with effective tools that help manage pests and time on their farms,” said Ashley Smith, SeedGrowth & Broadacre Insecticide Product Manager at Bayer Crop Science Canada.

Dual Modes of Action for Pest Management

Sivanto Energy integrates a Group 3 insecticide, deltamethrin, with a Group 4D insecticide, flupyradifurone. Bayer Crop Science Canada stated that this dual-action formulation is intended to provide comprehensive flea beetle control while offering growers additional flexibility in resistance management strategies.

“This integrated multiple active ingredient approach not only ensures comprehensive pest management but also provides growers with the flexibility they need,” Smith said.

The company positions the formulation as part of its broader effort to support sustainable and effective insect management programs in canola production.

Bayer Crop Science Canada Highlights Fast and Systemic Protection

The company emphasized Sivanto Energy’s rapid activity and systemic properties as key differentiators. The insecticide provides fast knockdown of flea beetles along with residual systemic protection for up to four days, helping protect emerging canola plants during vulnerable growth stages.

“With Sivanto Energy, farmers can have peace of mind knowing their canola fields are protected, allowing them to focus on other aspects that lead to a successful harvest,” said Bryan Bryson, Marketing Portfolio Lead at Bayer Crop Science Canada.

Bryson added that the product reflects Bayer’s continued focus on advancing insect control solutions for broadacre crops, particularly in regions where flea beetle pressure remains a persistent challenge.

Supporting Canola Growers

The company stated that Sivanto® Energy is intended to support growers by delivering consistent performance, extended protection, and ease of integration into existing crop protection programs, reinforcing the company’s portfolio for canola pest management.
