Case IH Expands European Lineup With New C500 Series Corn Headers
Case IH C500 Series Targets Higher Throughput and Reduced Stress on Components
Case IH has announced the launch of its new C500 series corn headers, delivering enhanced harvest capacity, faster stalk decomposition, and reduced stress on combine components. Designed for seamless integration with all Axial-Flow and AF combine series, the C500 range includes the largest corn header Case IH has ever offered in Europe.
At the center of the announcement is the new C516-75, the company’s first 16-row, 75-cm-spacing corn header tailored for the needs of European producers. The model joins the existing C512-75 (12 rows, 75-cm spacing) and has been engineered to maximize the performance of the latest AF combine series.
Case IH Introduces the C516-75: A Lighter, Higher-Capacity Header for Europe
The C516-75 features a significantly reduced overall weight across its picking units, enabling:
- Lower component stress on the combine
- Improved load distribution
- Greater operational stability
- Enhanced fuel efficiency
Operators also benefit from simplified maintenance procedures, reducing downtime and ensuring more productive operating windows during short harvest periods.
“New C500 headers are the answer to maximizing output from the largest Axial-Flow and AF combines for those growing corn in 75-cm rows,” said Andreas Saile, European Business Marketing Manager Crop Harvesting at Case IH.
Advanced Features Designed to Maximize Harvest Efficiency
Across the C500 series, Case IH integrates several new technologies to support higher throughput and operational reliability:
- Dual-action deck plates, adjustable hydraulically from the cab for quick adaptation to crop conditions.
- The industry’s largest-diameter cross auger, measuring 60 cm with 62.5-cm pitch, ensuring smooth crop flow in high-volume conditions.
- A dual driveline system delivering separate drives to the row units and integral chopper, improving load management, efficiency, and overload protection.
- An advanced monitoring system with toolbar-mounted sensors that detect chopper and row-unit slip clutch activation through vibration and frequency signals, alerting the operator immediately.
“With this blend of features, harvest performance is maximized, downtime decreased, and total cost of ownership for the whole combine package is driven down further,” Saile added.
