Creation Investments, a global impact investor based in Chicago, announced its US$20 million investment in Agrolend, a Brazilian fintech focused on providing credit to small and medium-sized farmers. This investment will support the expansion of Agrolend’s credit offerings to industries, retailers, and farming cooperatives throughout Brazil.
Founded less than four years ago by entrepreneurs André Glezer, Alan Glezer, Valéria Bonadio, Leopoldo Vettor, and Carlos Fagundes, Agrolend uses a 100% digital platform to serve a large client base of farmers. The platform enables the company to support Brazil’s agricultural sector, contributing to the country’s leadership in global food production.
Capital Raised and Strategic Goals
With this latest equity round, Agrolend has raised nearly US$100 million over the past three years, increasing its capital base to approximately BRL 500 million. The investment from Creation Investments will help Agrolend work towards its goal of serving 5,000 small and medium-sized farmers across Brazil.
“We are excited to welcome Creation Investments as a shareholder to help drive our growth and expansion efforts,” said André Glezer, Agrolend’s CEO. Alan Glezer, the company’s CFO, added, “With their support, we will make tangible steps toward our ambitious goal of serving 5,000 small and medium-sized farmers across Brazil.”
