Key Takeaways

  • eAgronom has sold 29,000 Verra-certified soil carbon credits, generating €1.46 million in revenue and delivering the first major payout to farmers in its Carbon Program.
  • The sale follows eAgronom's registration earlier this year under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), with credits listed under Verra's VM0042 methodology for agricultural land management.
  • Revenue will be distributed among 150 farmers across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, covering 28,000 hectares of agricultural land, with an environmental impact equivalent to removing roughly 6,300 gasoline-powered cars from the road for a year.
  • The transaction was facilitated in partnership with South Pole, a carbon asset developer and climate consultancy that led carbon asset development and supported the sale.
  • eAgronom CEO Robin Saluoks projects approximately 1 million credits in 2026–2027 and around 4 million credits in 2028 as the program scales.

eAgronom Sells 29,000 Verra-Certified Soil Carbon Credits

eAgronom, the agriculture-focused climate tech company helping farmers adopt sustainable practices, has sold 29,000 Verra-certified soil carbon credits, generating €1.46 million in revenue. The sale follows the company's registration earlier this year under the Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and represents the first major payout to farmers participating in eAgronom's Carbon Program.

The credits represent verified carbon removals and emission reductions generated by farmers adopting regenerative agriculture practices, meeting one of the world's most rigorous carbon standards.

“This successful sale of 29,000 credits is a testament not only to the rigorous, data-driven methodology we use but also to the market's trust in our farmers. Corporations are increasingly recognizing the value of nature-based solutions that offer real, measurable climate impact while directly supporting the agricultural transition,” said Jens Olejak, Head of Carbon Removal Sales and Partnerships at eAgronom.

How the Revenue Reaches Farmers

Revenue generated from the sale will be distributed among 150 farmers who have adopted regenerative agriculture practices across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, covering 28,000 hectares of agricultural land. The transaction's environmental impact is equivalent to removing approximately 6,300 gasoline-powered cars from the road for an entire year.

The sale was facilitated in partnership with South Pole, a carbon asset developer and climate consultancy that led carbon asset development under the Verra VM0042 methodology and supported the sale of the certified credits. eAgronom secured buyers across the public, utilities, telecommunications, and consumer goods sectors, reflecting corporate demand for verified climate solutions tied to agricultural land management.

eAgronom's Carbon Program and VM0042 Methodology

The project is listed under Verra's VM0042 methodology, one of the more rigorous standards for agricultural land management, which allows farmers to generate carbon credits by reducing emissions and increasing carbon sequestration through improved farming practices. eAgronom's Carbon Program provides farmers with tools, guidance, and financial incentives to adopt sustainable practices and improve soil health, including reduced tillage, cover cropping, and optimised fertiliser use.

“This is only the tip of the iceberg. We expect 1 million credits in 2026–2027 and around 4 million credits in 2028. Each credit represents CO₂ removed from the atmosphere and recycled into productive soils through additional regenerative farming practices adopted by farmers,” said Robin Saluoks, CEO and co-founder of eAgronom.

Scaling Toward 4 Million Credits by 2028

As demand for transparent and high-quality carbon removals continues to grow in Europe, eAgronom is expanding its partnerships with both farmers and corporate buyers to scale regenerative agriculture across Europe and beyond. The company frames the practices it supports, including improved fertiliser use and cover cropping, as a way for farmers to strengthen resilience against extreme weather and long-term farm productivity while generating additional revenue through the voluntary carbon market.
