In a pivotal move to broaden its global footprint, Eden Grow Systems, LLC (EGS), a prominent player in the vertical farming industry, has announced the appointment of Ngu H. Morcho as Advisory Director and Strategic Advisor. Tasked with spearheading EGS’s venture into Southern and Western African markets, Morcho will focus on Nigeria and Cameroon’s public, charity, and nonprofit sectors, seeking to bring sustainable food and energy independence to these communities.

With over 20 years of top-tier global management experience and a proven track record of building successful companies across continents, Morcho is an excellent fit to steer EGS towards its ambitious goal: establishing Africa’s fastest-growing and most impactful agriculture technology (AgriTech) network by 2030.

The strategy focuses on critical cornerstones: economic empowerment, operational excellence, resilience, sustainability, and positive social and environmental impact. EGS’s carbon-neutral aeroponic indoor farming solution is at the heart of this plan, designed to boost self-sufficiency and foster healthy nutrition and prosperity within African communities.

Ngu H. Morcho has a wealth of knowledge in impact finance, market strategy, operational excellence, and capacity building. His skills are expected to be pivotal in EGS’s expansion into the African market.

Leo Womack, Executive Chairman of Eden Grow Systems, warmly welcomed Morcho onboard. He praised Morcho as a Houston Life Science Technology Venture community veteran, with whom he has had the pleasure of working on commercializing technologies from U.S.-based institutions.

Womack stated, “His extensive experience as an Ashoka Fellow and in senior executive roles within multinational organizations across the African continent, as well as in senior leadership within U.S.-based nonprofits, will be instrumental in helping us achieve our goal of becoming Africa’s most valuable AgriTech network company.”

Morcho expressed his enthusiasm about joining Eden Grow Systems. “My passion for leveraging technology to unlock economic empowerment and create positive social impact for underserved communities aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainable food and energy independence,” he said. Morcho is excited about the potential to contribute to the global fight against food insecurity.

The appointment of Morcho underlines EGS’s commitment to expanding its reach into African markets. It highlights its dedication to crafting sustainable solutions to tackle the pressing issue of global food insecurity. With this move, EGS is poised to redefine the future of vertical farming and AgriTech in Africa.
