Envision Energy has received the Notice to Proceed from Neoen for the turbine supply and installation package of the 179MW Narrogin Wind Farm in Western Australia, marking a further step in the company's expansion in the Australian market.
Envision Energy's Turbine Package for Narrogin
The project will deploy 23 Envision EN182-7.8 MW turbines, each with a 155-metre hub height and 182-metre rotor diameter, which the company says are the largest wind turbines installed in Australia. The farm is expected to power nearly 100,000 Western Australian homes annually and contribute about 3% of the South West Interconnected System's annual electricity demand.
Narrogin will be Envision Energy's first grid-connected wind farm for a client in Australia, connecting to Western Power's existing 220kV transmission line into the South West Interconnected System. It follows the company's entry into the Pilbara region with 17 EN-182/7.8MW turbines within the past year. Envision will supply, deliver, install and commission the turbines with UGL and CPB Contractors, members of the CIMIC Group, and has signed a 30-year operations and maintenance agreement with Neoen for long-term support of the asset.
