Green Techpreneur and Climate Marketplace Collaborate to Revolutionize the Green Tech Startup Ecosystem

The Green Techpreneur (GT), a prominent advocate for the green tech startup ecosystem, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Climate Marketplace, a leading database for climate tech investors. The partnership aims to launch an all-encompassing platform connecting innovative green tech startups with potential investors worldwide.

The collaboration is set to address one of the most pressing challenges faced by startups in the climate tech sector: a lack of access to sufficient funding. By facilitating introductions to suitable accelerators and founders, GT and Climate Marketplace are endeavoring to streamline the fundraising process for these startups.

Marianne Lehnis, the Founder of GT, expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating, “The GT exists to make a big impact for climate tech entrepreneurs and accelerate their journey to launch and scale. We’re thrilled to join forces with our sister company Climate Marketplace in a partnership we believe will significantly aid climate tech startups across the globe in their fundraising efforts.”

Climate Marketplace has already demonstrated a solid commitment to the cause, having helped over 150 climate tech startups raise £200 million since 2020. Together with GT, it aims to amplify this impact further, ensuring funds flow where they can have the most significant environmental effect.

James Burford, Director at Climate Marketplace, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential for partnerships to act as a catalyst for startups striving to level up. He stated, “The Green Techpreneur recognizes the crucial roles networking and exposure can play in a climate tech startup’s journey. This partnership can elevate teams, allowing them to focus on their primary mission – saving the planet.”

Only 1% of startups are accepted into accelerator programs, leaving many innovative and potentially game-changing ideas unexplored. GT aims to address this gap by removing obstacles to entrepreneurship and fostering a more inclusive space.

Mark Thackeray, Non-Executive Director at GT, further elaborated on this vision: “The Green Techpreneur has already helped numerous startups gain market awareness and bolstered them in sales. With our expansive green tech network, we’re ready to accelerate startup growth further.”

Founded in 2021 by journalist-turned-entrepreneur Marianne Lehnis, GT was initially designed as a platform to recognize and promote the work of climate tech founders. It has since evolved into a multi-purpose platform, offering various services to support startup growth.

Karolina Lewandowska, Co-founder of Venture Capital Fund StarBeam, has supported the initiative: “I am excited about The Green Techpreneur and the power behind their platform. Their commitment to inspire and support cleantech entrepreneurs and help connect companies with the right investors is inspiring.”

Leon Gerard Vandenberg, CEO & CTO of Sunified Group, further underscored the value of GT’s platform: “The Green Techpreneur helps you share your story in a real, engaging way… The level of commitment the GT has for helping climate tech startups succeed is a joy to watch.”

In sum, this latest collaboration aims to inject direct funding into an ecosystem already propelling the climate tech startup sector forward, marking a significant stride in the fight against climate change.
