Kemin Industries has announced that João Marcelo Gomes will be the new President of Kemin Food Technologies (website) for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Gomes previously served as President of Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health for South America, where he successfully doubled net sales and achieved record growth in net income.
Throughout his career, Gomes has held various executive positions in sales, marketing, and business and people development in animal nutrition and health companies, including Bayer, Fort Dodge, Pfizer, Ceva, and Novus International.
Kemin Food Technologies: EMEA offers customers a wide range of plant-based extracts, antioxidants, antimicrobials, and functional proteins. The company specializes in solutions that address shelf-life, flavor, color, food safety, and yield enhancement.
Giuseppe Abrate, Global Group President – of Food and Human at Kemin Industries, expressed excitement about Gomes leading the company’s expansion in the EMEA food and beverage industry. Abrate expressed confidence in João’s ability to lead Kemin’s food technologies segment in EMEA and help the company achieve its strategic goals in the market, given his expertise in business development and general management.
João Marcelo Gomes, born in Cachoeira Paulista, São Paulo, Brazil, earned his veterinary degree from Universidade Federal Rural of Rio De Janeiro. He and his spouse have relocated to Italy, where Kemin Food Technologies – EMEA is headquartered. Gomes’s predecessor, Marsha Bro, now serves as Worldwide Acquisition and Licensing Director for Kemin Industries and is based at the company’s global headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.
