Micropep Technologies to Co-Develop Biocontrol Solutions with Corteva

Micropep Technologies, a company focused on peptide-based crop protection, has entered a multi-year research and development agreement with Corteva, Inc. The partnership will explore new peptide-based biocontrol products, including biofungicides, as part of Corteva’s Catalyst platform.

As part of the collaboration, Corteva gains exclusive global rights to use a specified peptide library for biocontrol and biofungicide applications. The peptides were identified using Micropep’s Krisalix™ discovery platform, which uses AI and high-throughput screening to generate candidates with novel modes of action.

Micropep Technologies Highlights Scalability and Innovation

The partnership marks what Micropep Technologies considers a pivotal validation of its discovery model. According to Mikael Courbot, CTO of Micropep Technologies, “This agreement with Corteva is a pivotal milestone in Micropep’s journey. It marks a new chapter in our mission to bring forward scalable, science-driven biological solutions for crop protection.”

The Krisalix™ platform is designed to generate a range of peptides that can work through distinct biological pathways. The resulting solutions aim to be both environmentally friendly and economically scalable.

Corteva Sees Strategic Value in Peptide Technology

Tom Greene, Senior Director and global leader for Corteva Catalyst, said, “Partnering with Micropep allows us to advance sustainable agriculture in new ways by strategically leveraging our own R&D capabilities. Their innovative peptide technology complements our leading biologicals solutions and offers new ways to protect crops.”

The agreement is expected to support Corteva’s long-term goals in biological crop protection, particularly in providing alternative solutions to manage resistance and improve environmental stewardship.
