RedSea, a trailblazing AgTech company renowned for its technology that supports commercial farming in warm climates across the globe, proudly announces the addition of John Keppler to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

John Keppler is the Executive Chairman of Enviva Inc. (NYSE: EVA), the leading global manufacturer of sustainable wood pellets, a renewable and reliable alternative to coal and other fossil fuels. As a co-founder and ex-CEO of Enviva, Keppler has been instrumental in transforming the company from a small startup to a global industry leader. This includes successfully navigating Enviva’s 2015 Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange, a first for any company in its sector.

Keppler is a seasoned professional in the sustainability and fossil fuel alternatives industries. He serves on the Board of the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP), a unique certification scheme for wood biomass used for industrial, large-scale energy production. Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) recognized Keppler’s exemplary achievements as an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2021 National Award winner. Keppler also has a history with RedSea, having served as a Senior Adviser to the company.

This announcement of Keppler’s appointment is another testament to RedSea’s growth trajectory and ambitious vision. It closely follows the appointment of other notable professionals to the board – Larkin Martin and Steve Dauphin.

Ryan Lefers, CEO and co-founder of RedSea, expressed his excitement: “We are honored to have John Keppler join our Board. He is a successful founder of a market-leading sustainable business himself, which he has grown from a start-up to a New York Stock Exchange listing. At RedSea, we are excited to learn from his vast experience and knowledge.”

On joining RedSea’s board, John Keppler commented, “I am very excited to join the board of RedSea and provide support and guidance to help the company fulfill its enormous potential.”

RedSea is at the forefront of sustainable agriculture technologies for hot climates. The company has been recently honored with the prestigious Davidson Prize for its iyris SecondSky transparent heat-blocking roofing materials. It was proven to reduce energy usage by over 40% in tests conducted in Saudi Arabia.

Growers are currently using the technologies developed by RedSea on four continents. The company has also established several high-profile partnerships, providing sustainable agriculture technologies for greenhouse facilities to leading developers such as Red Sea Global, Saudi Downtown Company, and Abu Dhabi’s leading fresh produce and AgTech company – Silal. With these developments, RedSea affirms its position as a global leader in sustainable agricultural technology.
