Suterra Acquires Vestaron Product Lines and R&D Pipeline
Suterra, a division of The Wonderful Company and a global leader in biological pest control, has acquired the product lines, active ingredients, and research and development pipeline of Vestaron. The transaction includes the Spear and Basin product lines, both of which recently received U.S. EPA approval, as well as assets from Vestaron's research facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan and additional active ingredients and formulations in development.
Suterra said it plans to begin manufacturing its own branded and supported Spear Lep product later in 2026, maintaining continuity of supply and technical expertise for growers and crop advisers already familiar with the product.
“Spear Lep is already familiar to many growers and advisers. We're excited to bring this product into Suterra's portfolio and continue supporting growers with reliable supply and technical expertise,” said Matthew Bohnert, President of Suterra.
“Suterra has demonstrated a consistent ability to successfully scale biologically based technologies, but what makes this combination particularly compelling is the grower adoption and proven success of Spear LEP in the market. We are incredibly proud of what has been built, and confident that this platform will continue to deliver even greater value to growers globally,” said Juan Estupinan, CEO and President of Vestaron.
Expanding Suterra's Biological Pest Control Portfolio
The acquisition strengthens Suterra's biological pest control portfolio with EPA-approved products and a research pipeline that includes additional active ingredients and formulations currently under development. The inclusion of Vestaron's Kalamazoo facility assets suggests Suterra intends to continue building on the scientific foundation established by Vestaron. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
