Van der Ende Group Acquires Hortispeed to Strengthen CEA Water Treatment Portfolio
Van der Ende Group has acquired the activities of Hortispeed, adding the Ecofilter, O2 Solutions, and Trumma Filter product lines to its controlled environment agriculture water treatment portfolio. The transaction positions Van der Ende Group as a broader total supplier of filtration, oxygen technology, and water quality solutions for CEA installers and end users worldwide.
The three acquired product lines cover distinct areas of water management. Ecofilter belt filters are used for the efficient removal of solid particles from water streams. O2 Solutions contributes nanobubble technology for oxygen level optimization. Trumma Filter adds further filtration capabilities for a range of CEA water applications.
“With this expansion, we are not only strengthening our portfolio but also our position within the international water treatment market,” said Lex van der Ende. “The technologies align perfectly with our existing activities and enable us to support customers worldwide even better with innovative and reliable solutions.”
Phased Integration and Knowledge Continuity
To ensure a smooth transition, Hortispeed founder Cees de Haan will remain involved in the business during the integration period, supporting knowledge transfer, product development, and the incorporation of acquired technologies into the group's broader operations. The company has opted for a phased integration approach, prioritizing continuity for existing customers, suppliers, and partners before moving to harmonize product documentation, processes, and positioning across the portfolio.
