Vivent Biosignals Raises New Funding to Scale Plant Monitoring Platform
Vivent Biosignals has secured €7.5 million in new investment, with €2.7 million led by Agri Investment Fund (AIF). Additional participants include Pymwymic, Horticoop, and Swiss private investors. The financing will enable the company to accelerate commercial deployment of its real-time plant biosignal monitoring technology across Europe.
AIF’s CEO Patrik Haesen highlighted the value of earlier stress detection and more precise farm management. “We see enormous potential for Vivent’s technology to improve both farmer profitability and environmental sustainability,” he said.
The investment comes as Vivent Biosignals expands its platform to cover more than 1,000 hectares, following positive results from early commercial users.
Vivent Biosignals Technology Supports Proactive Crop Health Management
The company’s system uses artificial intelligence to interpret the electrical signals naturally emitted by plants, allowing growers to identify stress caused by pests, disease, nutrient imbalance, or drought several days before visible symptoms appear. These insights enable timely interventions and help optimize inputs such as water, fertilizer, and crop protection products.
The technology, initially deployed in greenhouses, is now being adopted for outdoor crops including potatoes, berries, apples, and grapes. The system provides continuous, real-time plant health insights across varied production environments.
Tom Vlaemynck, Managing Director of TomatoMasters, noted the practical benefits of the platform. “Vivent assists us improve fruit quality and reduce our waste percentage,” he said.
Investors Back Vivent Biosignals’ Expansion Across Europe
Dr. Nigel Wallbridge, Co-founder and Executive Chairman, emphasized that recent advances in machine learning enable greater precision in interpreting plant electrical activity. “By scaling in outdoor agriculture, we’ve built the world’s largest dataset of crop biosignals,” he said.
CEO Carrol Plummer added that partnering with AIF provides strong alignment with European agriculture and supports the company’s growth trajectory.
The investment positions Vivent Biosignals to expand commercial reach, deepen research collaborations, and accelerate adoption of plant-driven decision tools that support more sustainable and resource-efficient farming.
