Bel Group and Climax Foods Partner to Create New Generation of Plant-Based Cheese

A novel collaboration between Bel Group and Climax Foods Inc. has been announced to develop a new type of plant-based cheese. To co-create plant-based sections of meals under the Laughing Cow®, Kiri®, Boursin®, Babybel®, and Nurishh® brands, the cooperation will make use of data science and artificial intelligence. This alliance is intended to address the issues the global food transition is now facing. Combining enjoyment, nutrition, and carbon footprint reduction are the primary issues. The joint venture between Bel and Climax Foods aims to produce plant-based cheeses comparable to their dairy counterparts in taste, affordability, and carbon impact.

Bel bought an ownership share in the firm to help develop Climax’s innovative solution. This agreement allows Climax Foods to reproduce animal-based goods with plant-based alternatives that match their texture, flavor, and nutritional value. In addition, the time needed to produce plant-based recipes that more fully use the vast plant kingdom will be significantly reduced thanks to Climax Foods’ AI-powered product development.

By the end of 2024, Bel hopes to introduce these new plant-based goods in the United States and Europe. By their collaboration, Bel and Climax Foods want to alter the game and successfully tackle the difficulty of scaling up swiftly. This new alliance is a component of the Bel Group’s ground-breaking plan to help create a new food system that can feed 10 billion people by 2050 while minimizing its value chain’s environmental effect.
