Factorial and SK On Partner on Solid-State Manufacturing
Factorial Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: FAC), a developer of solid-state battery technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with battery manufacturer SK On Co., Ltd. The agreement brings together Factorial’s cell technology and SK On’s manufacturing footprint to study how solid-state batteries could be produced at commercial scale.
“A battery breakthrough only matters if it can be manufactured at scale. That is what makes this partnership with SK On so significant,” said Siyu Huang, CEO of Factorial.
What the Agreement Covers
Under the MoU, the two companies will evaluate the technical feasibility and manufacturing considerations of Factorial’s FEST and Solstice solid-state platforms. The work will look at whether SK On’s existing lithium-ion infrastructure could support future solid-state production. The MoU is non-binding, with definitive agreements expected to follow.
