Legendary Fruit Company Moves to Acquire Gebbers Farms in Washington State

Legendary Fruit Company has entered into a letter of intent to acquire substantially all assets of Brewster Heights Packing & Orchards (BHPO), operating under the Gebbers Farms name, through a court-supervised sale process. The announcement, made on June 5, 2026, marks a significant consolidation move in the premium tree fruit sector of the U.S. agricultural industry, uniting two well-established Washington State producers with deep roots in apple and cherry growing.

If completed, the transaction would give Legendary Fruit Company access to more than 15,000 acres of land and exclusive production and packaging rights for several premium apple varieties, including SugarBee®, Rockit™, Lucy™ Rose, and Lucy™ Glo. The combined operation is expected to produce roughly 12 million boxes of apples and 4.5 million boxes of cherries per year, which would place it among the largest fruit producers in the North American market.

“The Gebbers name is the preeminent name in Northern Washington for apples, pears and cherries. We have known and worked with the team there for many years — not only as respected operators in our industry, but as neighbors who share the same commitment to excellence that guides our own business. This agreement strengthens our ability to bring consumer-favorite apple and cherry varieties to market, including SugarBee® apples. With our partnership in the North, we will continue the legacy of building strong relationships with growers, retailers, packaging partners and the communities we call home,” said Steve Clement, CEO of Legendary Fruit Company.

Supply Chain and Partnership Continuity

Legendary Fruit Company moved to reassure existing partners that current commercial arrangements will be preserved following any transaction. Fruit packed at BHPO will continue to supply Chelan Fresh, maintaining that distribution relationship unchanged. CMI Orchards will also retain its role as a key strategic marketing partner for all fruit from Legendary's existing operations outside the scope of the Gebbers acquisition, with no disruption to current programmes or customer relationships.

“The fruit packed at BHPO will continue to supply Chelan Fresh. At the same time, CMI Orchards will remain a key strategic marketing partner for Legendary Fruit Company and will continue to market all fruit from Legendary's existing operations outside of the Gebbers acquisition, with no changes to those current programs and customer relationships,” Clement added.
