Nouryon Invests in AGEYE Technologies

AGEYE Technologies

Nouryon disclosed that it has invested in AGEYE Technologies, a startup that is building an automation platform for indoor agriculture. By utilizing artificial intelligence, the platform transforms visual inputs into insights about crop growth and development and autonomous actions that increase harvest predictability and profitability for producers.

AGEYE was established in 2018 and has operations in Bangalore, India, and Raleigh, North Carolina (USA) (India). In the agreement, Nouryon will contribute its knowledge of crop nutrition and crop protection, further advancing AGEYe’s precision farming technology.

According to Rajeev Rao, senior vice president of corporate development at Nouryon, “we are constantly evaluating investment opportunities in emerging and sustainable technologies that have the potential to become a disruptive force in our key end-markets, including Agriculture and Food, Home, and Personal Care, and Paints and Coatings. The next-generation digital platform from AGEYE has the power to revolutionize indoor farming.”

With the use of digital technology from AGEYE, crop production, phytochemical content, and flavor may all be improved thanks to an intelligent indoor farming platform that enhances plant growth rate, development, morphology, and physiology. The 2022 AgTech Breakthrough Awards have named AGEYE the “AI-based AgTech Company of the Year.”

Ignacio Garin, Vice President, Agriculture, and Food at Nouryon, said: “The AGEYE platform’s capacity to swiftly identify localized growth anomalies and perform remedial steps is an outstanding addition to Nouryon’s crop nutrition and crop protection product range. We are eager to work closely with AGEYE to hasten the development of this ground-breaking technology and provide our clients with the newest indoor farming options.”

According to Nick Genty, Co-Founder and CEO of AGEYE, “We are very happy to partner with Nouryon – they have an extensive global reach in serving fertigation and hydroponics applications with micronutrients and specialty fertilizers and we share a vision of advancing the sustainability of indoor farming. We look forward to working together and assisting the quickly expanding indoor farming business.”
