Reshape Biotech, a Danish integrated hardware and software platform digitizing microbiology experiments, has announced an investment of $8.1 million, the most significant seed round in Denmark’s history. The funding was led by ACME Capital and supported by FundersClub, Y Combinator, Unity co-founder Nicholas Francis, and Per Falholt.

Reshape Biotech provides an affordable solution for lab automation in the food and biotech industries by using advanced technology such as mechatronics, cloud computing, machine-learning-based data analysis, and a deep understanding of biotech applications. The company’s robots are vertically integrated, capturing data accurately and eliminating redundant processes, making it easy for customers to digitize microbiology experiments and collaborate globally. Reshape currently serves 20 customers in various fields, such as agricultural and food microbiology, ingredients development, and industrial biotech, and has seen 100% customer retention and 300% YoY growth.
