Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. has announced the appointment of Mike Smith as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. The newly created position will have accountability for the company's Commercial, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Marketing, and Innovation organizations. Smith, a key leader at the company since 2007, will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Werner.
Smith previously led the North American Foodservice and Retail businesses, launched award-winning innovation, and led strategy development for the company. His numerous contributions have driven strong growth across multiple business areas, making him a proven leader at Lamb Weston.
According to Werner, creating this role positions Lamb Weston for further growth by integrating the company's global operating teams and providing an end-to-end view of the entire business, unlocking new efficiencies and scalable growth opportunities. He expressed confidence that Smith would provide a critical global perspective on the business and continue to deliver strong results in this new position.
Sharon Miller and Marc Schroeder will become President of North America and International, respectively, reporting to Smith. Gerardo Scheufler will also report to Smith as the company’s Chief Supply Chain Officer.
